We are a little baffled by the new kid in the block, Ampere Analysis, a UK-based spin out from IHS, which suggests that US skinny bundles may reach 3.5 million by the end of 2017. It passed that level in early 2017. Any rough count would put Sling TV at over 1 million, Showtime and CBS All Access each on 1.2 million, and HBO Now on 2 million. Most of these are reported figures, with the exception of Sling TV, which you have to make an estimate of from last year’s run rate.
