Start-up Artemis Networks, with its disruptive notion of a pCell (personal cell) for 4G and 5G networks, has been quiet lately, after an initial rush of enthusiasm when it emerged from stealth three years ago and secured trials with Nokia and Dish Network. Now, however, it has dramatically shrunk the size and cost of its technology, to slash the cost of entry to mobile networks for new entrants such as cablecos – or Dish itself, which put the start-up back in the limelight, showcasing its work with Artemis on its stand at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) last week.
