Bouygues has turned out to be the more dynamic in the fight for French operator SFR, and appears to have beaten off cable operator Numericable, by this week adding a cool €1 billion, much of it in cash, to the chips already on the table. That brings the Bouygues bid for SFR up to €11.3 billion in cash, up €800 million, as well as 43% of continued ownership in the combined entity. Bouygues says that the total valuation of SFR is now at €15.5 billion before synergies are taken into account and nearly €20 billion is you factor in all the synergies.
