While Huawei went heavy on cloud and light on 5G in its pre-MWC event keynotes (see separate item), Ericsson put 5G right at the center of its message. While this reminded us all of the Swedish firm’s huge prowess in the mobile network, it should perhaps be offering a more all-round picture of its capabilities, at a time when it needs to convince the world that it is as effective in cloud, data center, fixed network and media platforms as its Chinese arch-rival.
