KT Corporation, formerly Korea Telecom, is South Korea’s largest phone company and it is State owned. It dominates the local landline and broadband market, and competes vigorously with South Korea Telecom (SK Telecom), which is the largest cellular operator. It launched its hybrid DTH/OTT service Olleh TV in 2012. Operations and figures: Operating revenue for the first quarter of 2017 was $4.9 billion, a year-on-year increase of 1.8%, but down 6.8% from the previous quarter.
