It is clear that the main commercial justification for operators to invest heavily in 5G will not be the shrinking revenue potential of consumer data, but the chance to support expanded services for enterprises and industries, including IoT applications. But a flexible way to support services optimized for different vertical markets is tough to achieve. The latest project in the major European Union-backed 5G-PPP program, 5GTANGO, is focused on this challenge.
