Movistar Chile

Telefonica Chile was rebranded as Movistar in 2009, and was formerly called CTC. It is the largest fixed line operator in the country and its OTT service Movistar Play rolled out in Chile in 2013. Operations and figures: Movistar ended Q1 2017 with a total subscriber base of 12.2 million, with 656,800 on pay TV, a quarterly loss of 3,700 subscribers, but a year-on-year rise of 1.7%. It also has 9.03 million mobile accesses, down 5% from Q1 2016, plus 1.09 million broadband subscribers. Revenues in Chile for the first quarter came in at $626 million, up 9.8%, with pay TV accounting for $68 million, rising 11.4% year-on-year. Movistar Play claims around 110,000 subscribers.
