Automotive chip leader NXP Semiconductors has unveiled a new product at the CES tradeshow in Las Vegas this week, launching a software defined radio solution for in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems called the SAF4000 – showing how it can diversify Qualcomm’s core businesses following the $47 billion takeover in October last year. It claims the SAF4000 is the world’s first one-chip system covering all global broadcast audio standards, including AM/FM, DAB+, DRM(+) and HD.
