With some similar aims in mind as ORAN and TIP, another group of operators and other stakeholders has formed the 5G Slicing Association, set up by China Mobile, Deutsche Telekom, Digital Domain, Fraunhofer FOKUS, GE, Huawei, CEPRI of SGCC, Tencent, TIM and Volkswagen. The aim is to address the 5G requirements of vertical industries, and break down the lack of trust that exists – many industries claim that the mobile ecosystem ignores their wishes in developing 5G, and that MNOs will always prioritize their core mobile broadband business case over the needs of other types of connectivity such as low latency.
