A collection of mostly American, Latin American and European content and tech companies have formed yet another coalition against piracy, the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment or ACE. Another year, another half-baked piracy initiative. There are two issues about piracy. First it is an end to end networking activity, whereby if everyone in the chain, website hosts, CDNs, ISPs, were all motivated to block piracy sites, they could do it. It’s the lack of motivation that’s missing, not the technology.
