Qualcomm is attacking Intel in the two markets which have been at the heart of the modern success story for the world’s largest chipmaker. One is the server space, where Qualcomm’s Centriq is very much the outsider, but seeks to steal share in sectors where power consumption is critical and the old architectures are being questioned, such as Cloud-RAN.
