Last year both of the South Korean TV manufacturing leaders in Samsung and LG Electronics, separated their technology choices with one tying themselves to Quantum Dot technology and the other going down the mostly OLED route. This week at CES we see a further divergence with Samsung pinning its colors to Quantum LED, boasting 100% color volume, and LG embracing nano cell technology. We believe that as the dollar volume for the TV market has begun to shrink, fairly rapidly, the flat TV screen market place has to move away from being about who can survive savage price cuts.
