Sprint, owned by Japanese multinational telco Softbank, has had a mobile video service simply called the Sprint TV App, powered by MobiTV, since 2005, and is a candidate for a dramatic entry into a full Mobile TV First service, although its management team has made no mention of a new TV strategy as yet. In 2015 it introduced a similar paid service for its Boost Mobile pre-pay subsidiary. Operations and figures: Sprint recorded third quarter revenue of $16.23 billion, up $175 million, with a net loss of $444 million, compared to net income of $158 million in the same period a year ago.
