There are clear strategic directions laid out by most traditional set top makers, and as pay TV becomes more of a software world, one of these steps is to move more from hardware provision towards software. This week the UK’s Amino, one of the few set top makers still growing at a pace, provided more evidence of this with what appears to be its first real software only contract with a tier 1, Hong Kong operator PCCW.
