Blockchain-based IoT projects have gotten a boost this week, with the publication of an IoT ‘thing’ registration API that supports the major blockchain approaches today – Ethereum, Quorum, and Hyperledger. It comes from the still Unnamed Coalition, which was founded back in January, which was launched to collectively address the challenges facing IoT and blockchain innovation. The group, which still doesn’t have an official working name, includes big names like Bosch, BNY Mellon, Cisco, Gemalto, and Foxconn, as well as a plethora of startups – Ambisafe, BitSE, Chronicled, ConsenSys, Distributed, Filament, Hashed Health, Ledger, Skuchain, and Slock.it.
