Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) is now not just the leading new revenue avenue for 5G but is also becoming the main driver of mmWave deployment, rather than enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) in dense urban areas as originally envisaged. The latter may come to the fore later, but over the next few years FWA will dominate mmWave capacity usage as operators turn to the higher frequency to overcome bottlenecks in the primary mid wave spectrum.
