WiFi 7 modules and routers are being debuted at an increasing pace, ahead of finalization of the standard expected in the first half of 2024. In some cases, products are being aligned with 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), as in the case of Nokia, recently launching a WiFi 7 family including a dual-band 5G FWA gateway. That builds on Nokia’s investment both in WiFi 7 mesh networks designed to improve coverage, resiliency and capacity indoors, and in FWA signal optimization, exploiting the ability to orientate outdoor 5G receivers judiciously.
