Rethink Energy figures show 26.82 GW of photovoltaic capacity installed in Q2 of 2021 from 19 leading markets, which implies around 31 GW worldwide. Solar installations were up 26.7% in Q2 year-on-year, down from the 46.8% YoY acceleration of Q1, but still on track to meet our April prediction of 178 GW worldwide for this year. Surprisingly strong markets this quarter were France, Taiwan, and the Netherlands, while Brazil and Poland’s acceleration is more par for the course.
