One of Faultline’s biggest stories from IBC 2019, the last brick and mortar hosting of the Amsterdam staple before events were forced into virtual rooms, was headlined ‘IBC 2019: Vendors huddle for warmth as storm approaches.’ Months later, disaster struck, and while we aren’t claiming to be experts in predicting medical catastrophes or socioeconomic crises, we certainly have a knack of picking up early on clues of an unsettled nature inside media and entertainment technology circles. With IBC making its triumphant return next week, we expect a very different feeling on the show floor compared to what we felt three years ago – one of jubilance about returning to business as usual over worry about what the future might hold.…
