The China Hydropower Research Institute has published a new report into the costs of renewable energy, namely the China Renewable Energy Project Cost Management Report 2024, at its annual report release press conference. This report is about Chinese costs – but China’s equipment costs are directly relevant worldwide for solar and batteries, and to a lesser extent wind, with not even the US being 100% airtight in terms of trade barriers.
