The shockingly branded NESTED initiative, a French collaborative vaguely geared towards video streaming over 5G networks, is easy to interpret as another vanity project from Orange. NESTED – which is supposed to be an acronym for New VidEo Standards for Enhanced Delivery – combines Ateme’s compression technology and just-in-time packager with Viaccess-Orca’s secure video player and QoE analytics, along with a VVC decoder from French research institute IETR and carrier grade LTE-Broadcast components from Enensys Technologies.
