The Alaian operator alliance was formed in April, aiming to support 5G start-ups and stimulate innovation in 5G use cases. Now the group – founded by Bouygues Telecom, Cellnex, KPN, MTN, Telefónica and Wind Tre – has selected its first start-ups. At Alaian’s formation, the founders described themselves as “disruptive telcos for disruptive start-ups”, and they now say that more than 100 small companies responded with proposals, hailing from over 50 countries, including India, Spain, South Africa, South Korea, the UK and the USA.
