Apple has just acquired a start-up company called Asaii, claiming the capability to be able to identify the next big thing. Initially, it sounds like the music industry talent spotting equivalent of frantically firing a gun in the dark and hoping it hits something, although Apple’s interest implies the success rate might be surprisingly high. More importantly though, we asked ourselves the question – could this same concept be applied to video content? Or does such a system already exist?
