The broadcasting industry’s biggest trade show, IBC, saw the launch of a multi-network content processing service called Arqplex, from MediaKind, the result of 10 months of co-development with UK telecoms infrastructure provider Arqiva. Arqplex is described as a hybrid content processing service, which aims to transform headend services for broadcast and over-the-top video services. Arqplex handles encoding, multiplexing, content aggregation and packaging. Arqiva’s role is as systems integrator in the project, contributing its managed services and supporting customers via its own video headend operations, on an as-a-service basis.
