Another gigawatt-scale green hydrogen project has been announced in Australia – this time 3.6 GW or 200,000 annual tonnes of solar-powered hydrogen production, with battery support, in the state of Queensland, planned by start-up Austrom Hydrogen. The company has secured land in the North Callide, 70 kilometers from the Port of Gladstone, where it can make full use of the existing grid and the port. The Pacific Solar Hydrogen project is in very early stages: environmental studies and irradiance monitoring have just begun.
