Austrian brickmaker Seftenbacher has become one of the first customers for EnergyNest’s concrete thermal battery system, with a 6 MWh to 8 MWh system, due to be installed at a factory in Austria. Currently the installation is in the planning phase, with construction to begin in the latter part of this year. Once complete it will replace the use of natural gas at the factory, saving up to 2,000 tons of CO2 each year. The project also received EU backing under the Horizon2020 SME-I program thanks to its novelty and emission reduction potential.
