Every idea under the sun, usually relating to why EVs are just as bad for the environment, has been levelled at preventing the US moving “en Masse” to electric vehicles, and this week the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago has tried another tack – it cites data saying that because people use EVs less than real cars (Internal Combustion Engine or ICE cars), they are not actually replacements. The institute reckons that what is happening is that people are buying an EV and keeping their old ICE cars and using half and half.
