China’s National Energy Administration has released statistics showing 11.52 GW of solar was installed in the country through the first six months of the year. Since 3.95 GW was installed in Q1, this means the country has seen a surprisingly healthy Q2 with 7.57 GW installed – better than the first three quarters of 2019. The eastern coastal provinces of Jiangsu, Hebei, and Shandong saw the most activity in Q2, and the existing trend towards the east and Inner Mongolia has been maintained, though there are some projects in the West amid falling levels of curtailment there.
