China’s wind industry has claimed that it is ready to add 50 GW per year to the country’s energy mix through to 2025, rising to at least 60 GW up to 2030, with 400 companies signing a joint declaration at the China Wind Power 2020 conference in Beijing this week. This comes in response to the government’s newfound pledge to reach net zero emissions by 2060 and as it prepares the release of its 14th five-year plan, which will likely define the future of renewable energy in the country.
