CIM Group has started the construction on one of the world’s largest solar farms – the 2,700 MW Westlands Solar Park in San Joaquin Valley, California. The project will stretch over 21,000 acres of former farmland in Fresno and Kings Counties, within a 2017 designated Opportunity Zone, and will provide some economic diversification to an area largely focused on agriculture. After perhaps a thousand jobs during construction, the project will also entail O&M positions through its lifespan.
