The dying days of COP26 have brought a new wave of tension throughout the negotiating halls. As Boris Johnson flew back to Glasgow to urge world leaders not to “sit on their hands,” there is a growing unease that negotiations will linger into the weekend, and that much of COP26’s planned resolutions will be kicked down the road to COP27 in Egypt next year.
