According to Chinese news site Chuneng BJX, thirteen power generation companies have published plans for 32 projects, combining green energy with battery storage, which must be grid-connected this year – totaling 373 MW of battery capacity. That suggests China has now reached an annualized installation rate of about 800 MW for energy storage. Since 637 MW was installed during 2019 (coming to a total of 1.71 GW), installations are looking to be up at least 20% year-on-year.
