Last week we surveyed the rising number of submarine cables that are being built out around the world, and the increasing influence of hyperscalers within that market, as they seek to bring affordable broadband to the ‘next billion’ potential users of their services. The overview of this market also highlighted the growing importance of regional digital hubs, both to the users in the area, and also to the political and economic ambitions of governments.
