Limelight Networks has completed its rebrand to Edgio, after striking a deal to acquire and merge with Yahoo’s Edgecast business unit in the first quarter of 2022. In the months spent waiting for the ink to dry permanently on the contract, investments in edge compute and other edge-based technical innovations have ramped up across the video delivery industry – making the price tag look even more of a bargain. The combined Edgio entity has identified an expanded total addressable market of $40 billion.
