France’s Engie and Norway’s Equinor said this week they have a partnership to investigate the market for hydrogen made from natural gas with the CO2 captured and stored permanently offshore. This is a natural extension of Equinor’s North Sea undersea facility, which may or may not securely hold CO2 safely under the sea forever, but which it has exhaustively marketed in partnership with virtually everyone who can economically extract CO2 from any process, chemical or otherwise.
