We have said in recent weeks how much more advanced Equinor’s plans are to become a renewables business than its major counterparts in oil such as BP, Shell or ExxonMobil. This week it has positioned itself to get into the lithium ion energy storage business in partnership with Panasonic, and Norsk Hydro, a Norwegian aluminum company, one of the largest Aluminum traders in the world. Both Equinor and Norsk are part owned by the Norwegian government.
