Equinor this week came out with an entirely new design for its floating wind platform using a semi-submersible design instead of the traditional spar buoy which has been present in all of its floating wind trials until now. Interestingly the design look precisely like rival Principle Power’s Windfloat design. We reached out to Principle Power for comment, but have not received an answer at the time of going to press.
