China’s production of EVs has grown by 47.7% year-on-year looking at the first two months of 2025, according to Fu Linghui, spokesman of the National Bureau of Statistics, speaking at a State Council Information Office press conference. Perhaps the rapid growth of production and demand is old news, especially as most of it stays within China’s borders, but it’s accompanied by a rapid evolution in product quality as well. One such quality upgrade is fast charging, which has leapt into the 5C to 10C range (10C means one-tenth of an hour, if the battery charged only at its maximal rate all the way through, which it almost does).
