Metrics are key to properly evaluating companies, but on the environmental front, there is a major lack of data to do so. Operators are now increasingly including CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) segments in their filings, but examining Comcast, Deutsche Telekom, and Orange has painfully highlighted the differences in approaches. This is where the likes of the Greening of Streaming initiative are trying to help, in creating such reporting metrics that could be used.
