The G7 summit has produced a vast, tentative infrastructure plan, focused on renewable energy, which could come to rival China’s Belt and Road initiative. The Build Back Better World or “B3W” initiative promises $40 trillion, mobilized from the private sector, for developing countries through to 2035. While green energy will be the central focus, mention has also been made of health, digital technology, and equality. This comes with a new US Administration which is attempting to build a united front against China, which surpassed the US in terms of Purchasing-Power-Parity GDP at some point in the past four years.
