A 14.1 GW surge in quarterly additions in the first quarter of 2021 indicates the wind power sector’s fastest start to a year in history, according to the latest figures from Rethink Energy. Led by China, which accounted for 35% of installations through the quarter, followed by the US (21%), the top thirteen markets for global wind power – as tracked by Rethink – accounted for 11.1 GW of the approximate total.
