Green Hydrogen emerges into sunlight – a $465 billion opportunity

A year ago nobody wanted to talk about hydrogen except to say that it was a market that might emerge in ten years. But slowly hydrogen strategies have been articulated in more detail and now get aired in public on a regular basis. It is beginning to look like it is a market that is emerging right now. This week the largest European hydrogen project was announced by Shell and Gasunie – an offshore wind plan based around electrolysers, with up to 4 GW of power to hydrogen built by 2027, which they hope will grow to 10 GW by 2040.
