GCL System Integration Technology, part of the Golden Concord Group plans to leapfrog all the global leading solar manufacturers and build the world’s biggest solar-panel manufacturing plant, with capacity to meet half of global demand. However by the time it has built it, most of the others will have doubled or trebled their existing manufacturing anyway. The Chinese manufacturer plans to invest around $2.5 billion to build a facility in Hefei province which will eventually be able to produce 60 GW of solar panels each year.
