Spain’s Iberdrola, increasingly focused on its performance in the US, has announced results virtually untouched by the pandemic and thrown in a major US acquisition for good measure, buying PNM Resources which will add resources in two key US states, New Mexico and Texas, where the super-utility operates through Avangrid in the US. Key to the company’s continued success has been its focus on renewables growth, accompanying shrewd management of fossil fuel based generation, as it shrinks those businesses.
