Jinko Solar’s Tiger Pro modules have become the first to pass the new salt mist corrosion test – obtaining the IEC 61701 Ed. 3 (FDIS) certification. The test, conducted by independent company TÜV Nord AG, demonstrates resilience in the face of a humid atmosphere high in dissolved salt – relevant for coastal and floating solar installations. This third edition of the IEC 61701 test was recently released, and replaces the second edition which has been used to test solar modules since 2011. Parts of the new test standard were originally developed for testing automobile parts and coatings, in CX Extreme Marine conditions.
