Satellite start-up AST SpaceMobile promises to launch its Blue Walker 3 platform this summer and move towards full-scale manufacturing soon afterwards, according to CEO Tom Severson during a quarterly results call. The company aims to build and launch a fleet of satellites and is partnering with SpaceX to launch them, moving away from its current launch deals with Russian firms. Operators including Orange, Vodafone, AT&T and Rakuten all have agreements in place to test satellite/mobile services for remote areas with AST.
