Two weeks ago we reported that Malaysia’s mobile operators were shunning the national wholesale network set up by state-backed Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB – see Wireless Watch November 29 2021). To counter at least one of their issues, alleged high wholesale access prices, DNB now says it will offer its 5G services for free to MNOs during the initial roll-out phase. The Malaysian government announced the creation of DNB in February, establishing a special purpose vehicle to build and operate 5G networks nationwide.
