MediaKind unveiled Arqplex at this year’s IBC Show, a new headend-as-a-service that is the product of some ten months’ work with British telecoms infrastructure business Arqiva. After such a long time in the oven, there are high expectations for Arqplex internally, and initially some pretty low ones externally. Arqplex is described as a hybrid content processing service set to transform headend services for broadcast and OTT services. On the MediaKind side, Arqplex handles encoding, multiplexing, content aggregation, and packaging.
