Ericsson’s deployment days at Altice Portugal could be numbered, is the suggestion from the Portuguese operator following the launch of an à la carte TV offering targeted at millennials called Meo By, revealed just before we went to press last week. Almost three years since Altice’s acquisition of Portugal Telecom was approved, the launch comes a month after a revamped Meo UI, pointing to a whole new frontier in video and a time for change from the legacy Mediaroom technology which the Meo Go OTT service has been built on since it launched in 2011, when Mediaroom still belonged to Microsoft.
