Australian semiconductor firm Morse Micro’s tireless evangelism for WiFi HaLow looks like it is bearing some fruit, as it releases a platform for developers to develop products that exploit its brand of IoT connectivity. HaLow also looks like being a boon for WiFi itself, enabling it to compete in emerging mid-range IoT sectors through its combination of range, device scale and higher capacity than most LPWAN options outdoors, or short-range largely indoor IoT options such as ZigBee and Bluetooth.
